U2’s 360degree show was also declared the highest earning touring act in 2011 by the Billboard Boxscore. Their 360degree tour had started in June 2009 in Barcelona and ended in Canada in July 2011. And now U2’s Bono and The Edge were seen raising a toast to the success of their record-breaker hit New York musical show, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. The music and lyrics of the rock musical were written by Bono and The Edge.

Spider-Man: Turn off the dark was considered one of the greatest gambles in musical history. The show had a disastrous start with injuries to the actor, delay in the opening night and poor review about the show. It was considered the biggest flop ob Broadway broke box-office. Many professional critics had predicted that the show would have a quick death. The nine performances that the show had during the last week of 2011, it recorded the collection of just $3m.
However, the first week of 2012 news had them all raise a glass to Late Tony Adams, the producer of the show. The show was attended by more than 700,000 audiences from around the globe and also including the 17,375 audiences in the Foxwoods Theatre in the last week of 2011.
Bono said that after all the turbulence, there still was magic on the stage. U2’s guitarist The Edge also said that it was a proud day for everyone who was a part of that show. And that the Broadway public had also voted with their feet. Bono and The Edge who had penned down the music and lyrics welcomed the turnaround.
